Hello all! My name is Heather. I love all a manner of fiction, types spanning from Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" all the way to the Timothy Zahn Star Wars novels. Outside of writing, my hobbies include acting, singing, and tabletop RPG!

The clock starts ticking
And time is running out again
Our moments begin to sputter out
I got caught in the wind, now I don’t know where to begin
To begin to explain the life which I left out

A life of stories and songs
A life of poems and games to be played
A life of family and friends
A life for movies and opportunities
It was all perfect, I didn’t need an upgrade

But now this is where it ends
I had to leave it all
I couldn’t make amends
Well, I could have
But back then I was afraid

Hours fly by
Soaring past on eagle’s wings
So fast, I can’t even catch the tail
Then I remember how I failed
Leaving that perfect world behind

A world of peace and joy there
There was hope for young and old
A world of real and fiction
Oh the stories
The stories that we told

But then I had to leave

I was broken with no chance of repair
Lost in my internal darkness
No hope for me there
I couldn’t wear the scars on my sleeve

Later I learned I was wrong
But then if was too late
I already made up my mind
I’d already chosen my fate

I had no idea there was no such thing as broken
There was no such thing as lost
There was no such thing as hopeless
There is a such thing as redemption
I just needed to trust who I had pushed away

I pushed awy when I never understood the cost.

This is really beautiful! Great job!
P.S. I think you spelled "away" wrong in the last sentence :)
