if you see a piece get unpublished, it's probably because I've submitted it to a lit mag, contest, etc! sorry :)

i. silver tears drip from frozen lids, shimmering rivers down gold-blushed cheeks. flowers sprout from sterling pools, buds unfurled like open hearts. when their eyes flutter shut, heartbeats still, they smile, life blooming forth from their immortal sadness.

ii. words do not spill from my lips like silken honey, a velvety ribbon of spoken thoughts. they stutter from my tongue like skipping stones, worn smooth from the worry that guards my heart like a sleeping serpent. roses choke my lungs, bloodied petals falling from cracked, empty lips. my throat drops hollow; a word slips out,
sorry.

iii. stars sprinkle sky like sugar, sweet against the bitter blue. they melt, dissolving into nothingness like fleeting memories and sun-kissed hearts. blink. gone.

i've started reading a lot more poetry so i'm trying to practice my prose poetry writing (bc i'm pretty terrible at it). ngl i'm very happy about the alliteration in the title.

@BurningMidnightOil Wow, thank you so much! I always struggle with poetry so it's nice to hear some reassurance

This is absolutely stunning. You have such high diction as well as fantastic syntax. The imagery is phenomenal. Very, very well done:)
