Message from Writer

“You can be a drunk. You can be a survivor of abuse. You can be an ex-con. You can be a homeless person. You can lose all your money or your job or a husband or a wife, or the worst thing imaginable, a child. You can lose your marbles. You can be standing inside your own failure, a small sad stone in your throat, and still you are beautiful, your story is worth hearing, because you--you rare and phenomenal misfit--are the only one in the world who can tell the story the way that only you can.”

~Lidia Yuknavitch, The Misfit's Manifesto

My First

September 27, 2019

We talked a lot,
We became friends,
Then we became more,
But that's not where the story ends,

We loved each other a lot,
But we also fought,
It made me deeply distraught,
But the way I loved you won't be forgot,

You treated me with care,
Careful to not even pull my hair,
You kissed my lips ever so softly,
You made me want to be yours entirely,

I hope to see you again one day,
So I can tell you how much I missed the stupid things you would say,
Those stupid things made me yearn for you and the things you would do,
Like the way you would say, "Whether you like it or not I'm always going to stay",

But no one knows when the day that you'll walk away,
You didn't walk away and neither did I,
We were forced to part because of someone little lie,
Don't worry I promise I will stay true to our way of life,

I love you so much,
It was almost like my heart could blush,
Every word, every touch,
I hold close to my heart in hopes that I won forget,

But how could I?,
My first love,
My first kiss,
The only one I want to spend the rest of my life with,

So remember I love you,
So that I won´t have to wonder everyday,
About how I let you,
Get away...
