Message to Readers
Please let me know if you have any advice for the story, or my writing in general. It means a lot to me that you took the time to read my writing, and I hope you have a blessed day!
I admire the realistic aspects of the piece. I think your tone is great! It really gives you the back to school vibe that most introverts hate but know. :)
This was very relatable to me. As an introvert, I never initiate conversations, and it's kind of hard for me to make friends. But when you get the courage to just say something nice to someone you see alot (or not at all) it *surprisingly* makes their day! And really, it makes youres too. Helps remind us introverts that our worries are a bit exaggerated and the worse thing that could happen really isn't that bad.
The begining of the story was a bit confusing. I think this is because the way you introduced the environment to the readers was a bit choppy. The first few paragraphs you have our narrator explaining the new environment, and then getting used to it. But then, the narrator seems unsure of themselves once again. It may be confusing to readers if you place feelings (like becoming comfortable) in a non-chronological order. That is what confused me, but if it was intentional then don't worry about it!
The writer's idea of connection is that the simple ones count. To an introvert, all human conncetions are hard to make constant and strong. So when you gather the courage just say hi to a new person, it proves to yourself you are valued and that you have the power to validate other people.
I really appreciated this piece and loved to read about a similar experience I had! Keep writing about your experiences, you never know who's been through something that you have been through too.
Enjoyed reading your work! Keep writing and write free
