The piece that I admire most in this essay is how the author is honest and brave thought the whole piece. She isn’t afraid of judgement, and I admire her for not wanting to hide who she is anymore. The tone in the essay is also admirable, as it remains honest and open, and doesn’t try to hide the bad parts.
In this narrative, I found the most relatable aspect was when she states that “”silence was the only mother tongue I spoke anymore”. That is such a bold, honest, and raw statement that I related to immediately. So many people feel that silence is the only way, but it’s not.
The writer balanced the narratives and aspects of this piece like a champ; no complaints here. I found that it was a smooth read, and it clearly is not a first draft.
Connection can be found in any situation.
Keep at ‘er, and the best of luck in the contest. This piece is so brave and impactful, I feel that if I were a judge you would win because this essay is so brave and well written.
Thank you for sharing, and letting me review this piece. I love it. Good luck!
