arboreal bodies

August 24, 2019

a trillion trees sprout in my mind
pushing down their roots
twining around my spine.

buds bloom on my lips
the sun shines through my eyes
and bark grows on my hips.

my tears water the sapling trees
but salt collects on the branches
my hair ruffles with a playful breeze.
