Poetry On the Skin

April 13, 2016

She had poetry deep in her veins,
her words echoing her pain.
She had poetry on her skin,
love, hope, happiness written deep beneath the dead skin.

She wrote poetry on her arms,
to her words were like razors leaving behind red trails.

She wrote poetry everywhere she could find,
for poetry was like,
hope buried long under the cold, hard ground.

She needed poetry like she needed to breathe,
poetry to her was a lifeline,
a security,
a home for her deep thoughts on cloudy nights,
She needed poetry so she could breathe.
