Message to Readers

The first stanza covers the death and mourning of John Lennon in 1980. The second stanza is back in the present where records on vinyl are popular again. This is supposed to show that Lennon lives on through his music. The title is the irony of his song Give Peace A Chance versus his death. Let me know if this is clear and if you feel the difference in time between the two stanzas.

PROMPT: Time Traveler

Lennon has been shot!
Open lighters fill the skies
Who did it? Who should rot?
Chapman at the Dakota

Time stood still
Years later vinyl is in
The air is wavering with a cold chill
Lennon is back!
Beatles member, John Lennon, was shot and killed outside his apartment, the Dakota, by Mark Chapman on December 8, 1980.
