Song writing is not my forte (get it) and I am not well versed in this time of writing (did you catch that one?) but please provide feedback if you have any! I would appreciate any help. Thanks!

We Grew Up

July 12, 2019

Verse 1:
Summer treehouse days
Running through the sprinklers
Bug bites and play
When we were just kids

Verse 2:
Chocolate ice cream cones
Words we didn’t know
Unprepared, scared to grow up
We hid behind our mothers

Those were the good old days

Chorus:
We grew up
Once said we’d stay young forever
Promising it would all stay the same
Until we realized the big world needed big people
To fill the space the others left behind

Verse 3:
Not a care in the world
Oblivious childhood
Nowhere to be, nothing to do
Just children and their dreams

Verse 4:
Dreams of tomorrow
Spaceships and sunshine
We said we’d go all over the world
And perhaps we did

Those were the good old days

Chorus:
We grew up
We once said we’d stay young forever
Promising it would all stay the same
Until we realized the big world needed big people
To fill the space the others left behind

Bridge:
A never ending cycle
Grow up, get old, then die

We grew up
Into big people
With big choices to make
And big things to do

Close:
No more sprinkler summers
And ice creams cones
It’s a big world, we grew up

We grew up

Very good work! I have experienced the same thing and this perfectly portrayed the feeling. Thanks so much for writing this! I’d love to hear the recording!

This reminds me of a song I wrote sometime ago. I really enjoyed reading it. It's very creative. Good job.
