FREE WRITING

I FINALLY DID IT YA'LL! So like 2 months ago I posted asking if I could use someone's poem to write a song. @Quille graciously offered one of their poems (no, I didn't forget about you :). I just uploaded it to YouTube and it's called "Words Will Still Remain". Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEMtdYETH70ARrQdj3xfWQg?view_as=subscriber
I would love if you could listen to it! I put it together in one evening, so it's shaky and the piano is nothing special. Not to mention, it's not my style as I am a classical singer, so please be gracious.
Big shout out to the awesome @Quille! You should definitely go check out some of their writing, including the original poem. I rearranged it for the song, but here are the lyrics:

A thought-clouded mist moves in upon the night,
Shadows of hope become hidden out of sight.
On the wings of reverie, I fly,
Daydreaming across a starlit sky.

Paper rents and steel melts in flood,
Only bitter ink will stain the blood.
The heart will flake away
Unless love paints anew each day.

Beware, beware the knife-edged may cut its strings,
Striking chords a dead bird sings.
Whispers cry out against the pain,
But words will still remain.
I said words will still remain.

Eyes shine with sunlight shades of tears
Hearts break confronted with lovers' fears.
Tarnished jewels lie in wait
For fish who'll swallow no other bait.

Beware, beware the knife-edged may cut its strings,
Striking chords a dead bird sings.
Whispers cry out against the pain,
But words will still remain.
I said words...

Rhymes elude the starstruck poet,
But he's afraid lest the king should know it.
Reverie's wings break and shatter,
Dreams, after all, are the only things that matter.

Beware, beware the knife-edged may cut its strings,
Striking chords a dead bird sings.
Whispers cry out against the pain,
But words will still remain.
I said words will still remain.

Dreams, after all, are the only things that matter.

Also, you're all welcome to listen to my other videos. I started the channel so I could record and keep all of the songs I've done for fun. I want to start posting things I've put more work into. The ones I have so far were put together really quickly. Anywho, I hope you enjoy it....even though it's kind of a depressing song.....

@Dmoral13 I want to do private voice lessons (which I do now), so any age. But one of the best ages to work with in voice is probably the teen years. If I teach in schools, I’d probably wanna do high school. What subject do you want to teach? Thanks!

Omg that was so beautiful! Quille, if you see this, I absolutely love that poem. And, Juliana, you have such a beautiful voice! You just made me so jealous.
I saw your piece asking for poems that you could turn into a song. Considered doing it, but none of my poems are song worthy :/
