you were the first, i think, in crystal tones
with tunes unsung and words unknown
pouring from my teenage bones
you knew just how the seeds were sown

the longing gleaned from every night
from angel wings in wandering white
whispering secrets to the first light
...now tell me if i've got this right

tasting tongues, burnt lungs, rose hip
bleeding star from twitching lip
the hundred and eighth midnight pub trip
it's not hard to teach the heart to grip

in twisted lullabies danced our show
you bloomed and told the earth to grow
can i be blamed for falling so?
you were the one who let me go

i adore you this is gorgeous and i love it wow, my fave lines are probably "tasting tongues, burnt lungs, rose hip/bleeding star from twitching lip" and "in twisted lullabies danced our show/you bloomed and told the earth to grow/can i be blamed for falling so?/you were the one who let me go" (oops that was the entire last stanza) and all of it is so eloquent and just very very beautiful
