Message from Writer

I have found that what I put here before was very deep.
Just wanted to say hi.
So hello.

January 23, 2019

Thanks to all for supporting me so heavily on my second ever contest, and I so enjoyed each entry.
Prompt 1: Write a short poem that relates to a life and death cycle. It doesn't have to say any of this in it, just be related to it.
Word Count: 4 words to 4 sentences.
Prompt 2: Write a poem that relates to the experience of a superpower- flying, breathing underwater, teleporting, ect.
Word Count:  5 words to 5 sentences.
Prompt 3: Write a poem that relates to the feeling of losing something—it could be something as mundane as a quarter, or as important as a family member.
5 words to 5 sentences.

You can find the original piece here.
Before I judge anything, I want to say that this sight fills me with joy, and you guys are pretty much my brothers and sisters.

Prompt 1:

1st: Majestically Awkward Mantee
the solitary of living in hidden deserts
under descending stars
at last, the sparrow has perished
life or death is just a heartbeat away

This piece left me wondering, and it was so vived and clear, yet still held mystery. Great job!

Honorable Mention: Dmoral13
Life and Death fell in love,
Life sends death gifts,
Death keeps them for eternity,
Our lives are those gifts,
Death shows us eternity.

This piece seemed to juxtapose the to forms of change as one, which rang true with me.

Prompt 2:

1st: Christy Wisdom
I've always wanted to see
The world. I never thought
I'd teleport out of it
It's beautiful; I'm suffocating. Woops.

I find this hilarious, and it fit the prompt perfectly. I love it.

Honorable Mention: Ryder
The air so cold flies past my face
The ground below is standing in place.
The dragon's wings like thunder beat
I hold on tight; can't loose my seat.

This seemed to encapsulate the idea of flight, and it told its own story. It also rhymed, which is nice.

Prompt 3:

1st: The Bubbling Pen
I believe I have lost
my imagination.
I can see it stumbling about in a desert of snarky comments shaped as desert thorns, sweltering under the sun’s fierce and disapproving gaze, falling subject to the scorn of onlookers who fly on vultures’ backs, drowning in the quicksand of destructive criticism…
But as I see it stumbling and sweltering, falling and drowning, I finally see my imagination
rise above it all.

I thought this poem was abstract in a way that ignited the imagination—rather than detracting—and the figurative language was beautiful.

Honorable Mention: Anha
I wander like a lost Traveler,
Embarking across desert sands,
The mind numbing rhythm of feet on crumbling stone,
Seeking an oasis I know not.
I wander like a Traveler,
For I have lost myself.

This piece was melancholy, and it also took you on a journey through the crumbling of life.

(I don't exactly know why, but deserts are very common in this competition.) \/(^-^)\/

Thank you all so much!
