End of year letters.
This month, help us uncrease one of the most cherished writing forms: the letter.
As the year comes to a close, it’s only natural to reflect on the twelve months passed. In fact, letters appear in all kinds of end-of-the-year traditions around the world. In Australia, students write letters to their teachers before going on summer holiday. In Germany, children write letters to “Christkind,” their traditional gift-bearer, asking for presents and decorating the envelope with sparkling sugar. And in many corners of the globe, young and old alike take the opportunity to write to friends and family about the goings-on of the year passed.
As 2017 comes to a close, who will you write to about the events of the last 12 months? Address your letter to a particular recipient, as Maggie Mills does here
, or write to the world at large. We can’t wait to hear your news.
