Humans are just Monkeys

PROMPT: Poetry and Spoken Word Competition: 2021

Humans                                are                        just                                        monkeys
            With                                    Twitter and                         Wi-fi
Who                     think they                        are so                                     cool
                since                             they                             have the                                newest
            phone

Humans                                are                        just                                        monkeys
With                 three-piece suits                        and                         pompous speeches
Who                 think                they are            so          charismatic
            since            they                     got                     elected                            for
                        President

Gender Bias

PROMPT: Poetry and Spoken Word Competition: 2021

Girls, we are girls
We make history,
but not as easy as boys, with all their joys.
We could work twice as hard but earn less,
then boys because of their Gender.

Do you think it's fair yet?
It was finally getting better gaiety returning,
then this pandemic sent things swirling.
Suddenly we're back a time machine of bad,
Alas, we're back,
70 years of progress gone,
just as fast as a song.

Gender stereotypes, more than Girls VS. Boys. ...

Good Old Days

PROMPT: Poetry and Spoken Word Competition: 2021

I miss the days when we would play outside till it got dark,
We would call our Moms Mommy and our Dads Daddy,
We would hide in our friends house when our parents would come to pick us up cause we didn’t want to go home,
We didn’t care how we looked at school and actually enjoyed it,
Those were the good old days,
Now all we ever want to do is sit in our rooms all day and watch...

The Little Girl I Left Behind

PROMPT: Poetry and Spoken Word Competition: 2021

I’m planning a funeral
For the little girl I left behind
She was perfect and she was kind
She made you happy and she made you proud
Daddy’s little girl and mammy’s greatest pride
The perfect child
Good grades, responsible
And a great big group of friends
But I’m sorry to tell you she died long ago
I’ve been living in her corpse
But it’s far too cold
So I’ll let her rest in peace
And live My life at...

Dad

PROMPT: Poetry and Spoken Word Competition: 2021

A dad is not an Anchor to hold us away,
Nor a sail to take us to Sunday,
but a giude who leads the way with his love,
A dad is someone who will always be there
and is as loyal as a dove,
If you are down with a frown,
he will turn it upside down,
Dad is a person who doesn't catch you when you fall,
but rather to help you up and dust you off,
he's a...
