It’s a small world she lives in
Massive though it seems.
A web of darkness untouched
By human or machine.
The surface remains unscathed
Virgin in making.
The essence of life clings to her folds
Alas! She is waking.
What beauty is held
Within that dark visage.
That the smallest of creatures
Should emerge from her tomb.
In beauty and in color
Born twice anew.

Told us
That life goes on
He's right
Winter
Spring
Summer
Fall
Over
And over
And over
(at least until winter dies)
When your best friend dies
When you get your first kiss
The universe doesn't care
Maybe it gave up on us
Maybe it doesn't even know that we're here
No matter what
The world around you will keep going
I find comfort in that

Will my headaches ever go away?
I feel like they should;
I feel like I’ve suffered enough hours of constant pain,
harassing my mind until my vision jumps and zooms and freezes-
a camera roll cracked on each frame of its existence.
My every thought is consumed by the knocking on wood.
It hurts.
It hurts.
IT HURTS.
The words are like a drumbeat in my mind that never stops.
The hollowing pain hums in a loop...

The earth teemed with dazzling life
As the sun smiled upon the trees
Who steadily waved back and forth.
Bright blue skies opened to reveal
A plethora of beaded potential
Shining like glitter in the heavens.
A surge of fulmination tore through the sky
Electrifying the soul of the atmosphere
And filling the earth with power.
Suddenly, dark, foreboding masses of gloom
Come forth to reveal their anguish
And spit spears of sadness upon the shore.
The heart of the...

The scandal of cicadas drowns your voice, but I still see your teeth flashing in the half-dark.
Your flesh crests above the tight clutch
of your little dress,
unmoisturized skin swelling between each thin strap
lacquered with the sweat of a mosquitoed summer's night.
Breaths swelling with the spoiled sweet smell of milk dance thickly
over my chest, but I look past to an indistinct night freckled with frail stars.
Oh, carnal woman! Your flesh is so dear
to me.

Whispers of curiosity,
Drawing you in,
Their song of curiosity like that if the sirens,
Pulling you in
Only to disappear again
Your mind becoming a hurricane of what-ifs
Until you have lost your way
And perhaps even your mind...
In writing,
Only the most persistent can
Can find a way
Can write a piece of art
Can write of imagination and wonder
Poe, Rowling, Wilde, Hemingway,
Shakespeare, Twain, King...
And all the whispered songs say
Is “that can be...

A bright sky glistens in the sky
Birds chirp among one another and wind blows through the trees
All of a sudden a white cloud appears
It’s easy to see through so nobody pays attention to it
But no one realizes that by ignoring it
The cloud flies higher and gets colder
At first the cloud collects small drops of water
But soon it gets more water and begins to transform
The cloud slowly expands and turns darker and darker
Now...

When I walk on the sky,
My clicking bootsteps
are showering, splashing
making hissing plumes
that go scattering by,
seafoam flecking,
like waves at sea-
A sandy ocean-bottom below.
When I walk on the sky,
an iridescent petrichor
fills the air,
matching the wan rays
of sunlight that shimmer,
filtering light around me
like cheshire-cat smiles-
A fairytale for me to write.
When I walk on the sky,
Clouds, stratocumulus perhaps
are whipped by a wicked wind,
shaping and reshaping

she is like the amber eye of Mars
or the force that drives the waves;
she watches and sees,
listens and learns,
and she hides away, unknown
from the world.
in her palm is the heat of the Sahara
and she wields it like a dagger--
seeking her opponent stealthily.
she is a panther of the mountains.
yes, her heart is cold;
it froze long ago with the tundras
of the north, but it still beats
and she can hear...

My heart flutters
Like a butterfly
In the wind
Carrying the whispers of my desires
Freedom
My chest is hollow
Empty
Things echo there
But nobody hears
Freedom
A cage
Made of glass
I can look
But I can’t touch
Freedom
I am not satisfied
Is there not more to life?
I wish not to settle
I wish not to stay still
Freedom
Do we only live to die?
Mediocre living
Surviving, but not thriving?
What is life if not...

Some are born teachers. Your lack of talent
so blatant; your doorknobs
failing to be astute— deprived of discipline—
overlooking the need to hide displeasure
in seeing faces that don't compliment such rust.
Strangers to shame, as I was to them,
those wrinkles of worn floral patterns—
too vacant, frail, and rotten of the years
they’ve lingered, waiting to be deflowered.
Those paper walls curve, but time has made
our friends so brittle— unable —to cave in just
enough to...

This voice,
The voice you are hearing now,
This is my voice, so listen up.
You say I’m too young,
That I don’t understand
You won't let me speak out the words I’m dying to say.
Screaming through my silence
My voice is drowned out in a chorus of others
Others who are older
Because apparently the only voices that matter are the ones that flow from you.
What will it take for you to hear me
And actually listen?

There's this bus
that goes by
Bruter Street.
You never know
what you might
see on it.
In the front seat
is a festering,
rotten apple.
Covered with
wrinkles, and
filled with disease.
In the seat beside
it is a caged,
sullen bird.
So eager to fly,
but ensnared by
reality.
A few seats behind them
is a tattered,
crimson rag.
Beaten and used,
then thrown out
with the garbage.
Next to it is
an abandoned,
broken knife.
Burning hot with
pent-up...

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I hate being here
It makes me so blue
Someone save me
I'm begging you please
I don't want to be here
I want to be at ease
Although the skies are blue
And the grass is very green
This isn't my ideal
Perfect dream
But I must keep quiet
Although it's hard
But my silent screams
They could travel so far
The sun is bright
Though my heart is dark
This depression I...

there is a dungeon
and a palace
and everyone walks up the stairs
into the floating palace
because they think
it floats in the air
on nothingness
they think
that there is something immense there
something great
shining and glistening with all the glory of the world
they think
that below
in the dungeon
there is there is a spitfire
that there are chains and moans and screams
THEY THINK
that the castle is
a dream
but it’s a mirage

It kills me to say,
That we will never stand again on the shore of the bay,
Walking down the memory lane,
And becoming the innocent ones that we were again.
Friendship is an incurable disease,
Time will decide how fast should it spread,
But a miraculous disease it is, that first it relieves you with ease,
For saving the other you might be dead.
Time is unpredictable for that matter,

Failure doesn't normally come from air,
Same as success, not dropping out of nowhere.
Failure is stemmed from your entire life,
Your entire life building you up to fail.
Success is rooted in your nature,
The expectation that followed you.
One failure sparks another,
and endless hole of nothingness.
One success paves another,
the future staring it down.
But with success comes failure
and with failure comes success.
It's inevitable.
You will fail and succeed much more in life.

I'll take you back
around to the place in my mind
of a time I felt peace and control in my life
didn't make it too far
when smiling at me, came another cold heart
and so patiently, I waited for the day
when I wake up in the morning
with no one around
cry out to the stars
never to be found
I'm sorry, I'm sorry
if all of this hurts,
looking quite closely in the mirror
and horror...

I wish to be hugged, tightly into those arms
No words spoken and time frozen still,
Cause my heart heard your question
"Honey,how have you been?"
And the tears rolling down gave the answer
Even though, I try to hide
"It's such a cruel world .
I'm so alone and scared."
But the warmth that I feel
When our body touches
Feels like a baby wrapped in a blanket
And for a moment ,I forget it all
Cause you are here...

You sit further away by the woods.
you-
You.
You give him life that he never knows
away from the cherry curtains and blossoms of light that bounce on your cheeks
when you watch him.
You savor beams of sun
spreading where it’s
unloved.
Etch-ed.
Your face reverberates light into his lungs,
you smile and warmth comes again.
A hollow gasp breaks the marrow
“Breathe.”
You whisper a rasp, a honeyed sap that seeps into his ears.
How can he...

Nine years old
In a house I don't know
My trash bag filled with all the things I own
I meet the cousins I didn't know I had
Who all pretend they don't know what happened to my mom and dad
Four years I stay in a room that isn't mine
Everyday I am told that everything will be fine
And just when I think my life is finally back
They take me by my hand and tell me to...
