Forward Backward

Full Details

Sprinkleofchaos recently published a piece we liked so much, we turned it into a prompt! Read “I am” for yourselves—first from the top, then from the bottom, as instructed—and then write your own poem that can be read from either end.

I am

I am a child born and bred underneath the night sky.
I lie within the earth’s gentle embrace.
The bubbling brook beaming  under the nurturing light.

I am,
Sister to the night and daughter to Mother Nature,
I am life.
Hidden in the heart of creation,
no one can find me,
Nowhere but everywhere.

I am,
the whisper of the wind,
I am the sound of falling snow.
The first breath of air.

I am here.

(now read it backwards)

Need more inspiration? Kristoff Misquitta and Violeta Nicola write their way forward and backward in "Cardboard Box" and "Who am I?".
